Financial Risk Supervision Specialist

Location Curaçao

Department profile

With approximately 65 colleagues, you will supervise more than 400 institutions, focusing on their financial soundness, their adequate treatment of customers and their compliance with anti-money laundering and terrorist financing obligations. You have insight into main challenges that lie ahead and focus on the most important risks and shortcomings of the institutions under supervision.

Your profile

As an expert supervisor, you know the financial sector and the institutions you supervise, have specialist knowledge of the area of expertise and current national and international trends and developments. You have knowledge of applicable research and analysis methods and techniques and local laws and regulations and international standards. You are analytical, good at problem solving, communicative, result-oriented, persuasive, have a proactive attitude and a structural working posture.

Activities

  • Perform analytical, advisory, and executive work based on specialist knowledge with the emphasis on content analysis;
  • Keeping abreast of relevant national and international developments and disseminating any newly acquired information, as appropriate, to the team;
  • Conduct on-site examinations at supervised institutions;
  • Responsible for contributing to orderly and transparent financial market processes;
  • Responsible for the fair treatment of clients by supervised institutions;
  • Pro-active management of the daily workflow and adherence to set deadlines and controls in place.

Requirements

  • WO degree in Accountancy, Business Economics, Risk Management or similar;
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Experience with insurance and pension funds is a prerequisite;
  • Knowledge of supervisory laws and regulations and of the financial sector;
  • Excellent oral and written expression skills in English and Dutch;
  • Extensive knowledge of financial products, especially banking and insurance products;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to deal with tasks independently as well as collaboratively within a team;
  • Good command of MS Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerBI.
