The Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS) is the only institution entitled by law to issue banknotes and coins in Curaçao and Sint Maarten. Since 1971, the Netherlands Antilles Guilder (NAf) is pegged to the US Dollar. The official NAf / US$ rate is 1.79.
In order to effectuate cash transactions with the CBCS (the purchase of uncirculated banknotes and coins, coin sets and commemorative coins; the exchange of multilated, withdrawn or perceived counterfeit banknotes and coins), the general public should adhere to the ID requirements of the CBCS of which the details can be found here.
